Coaching comes naturally for most parents, in part, because you already do it. But, doing it consistently and well requires practicing new skills and behaviors. This is a review of suggested Do’s and Don’ts to help you get started as a learning coach.
Remember the coach within you provides the support and encouragement to help your child change and adapt new strategies.

Use this as a reminder and your guide to help you start coaching superior evidence-based learning strategies. Your role as a coach of smarter learning may feel a little uncomfortable at first, but don’t worry, there already is a great coach within you! You do lots of coaching already, even if you haven’t thought about it that way.

There are three simple steps to becoming a great learning coach. Follow these steps:
- Complete the online and free Learning Strategies Assessment and get your report on each of your kid’s use of evidence-based strategies.
- Sign up for the Pa 10 course Improving Your Child’s Learning Power. Take the 5 lessons which explain more about strategies and coaching them.
